DESCRIPTION:We will see the native plant garden at the visitor center, cross Route 276 to the Biltmore Campus Trail to see more native plants and identify the trees and shrubs that we see. The picture of plants we saw during a recent scout for the trip.\nLeaders Carrie Blair and Brett Hopkins.\nCarrie teaches tree identification through her Tree Lovers School. She is a member of the NCNPS, VANPS, SC, NPS, Ga Botanical Society, botanical Society of America, and Wester Carolina Botanical Club. She has led 100’s of walks since the 1990’s and teaches Transylvania Master Gardeners Winter Tree ID course, February through April.\nBrett is a long-time member of the NCNPS, an avid gardener and botanizer. He has converted his lawn into a wildflower meadow which has been toured by the Society. He is very knowledge in identifying plants and using the tools, both keys, INaturalist, and FloraQuest.\nNote: the admission/parking fee for the Cradle of Forestry is $10/adult and $5 for senior pass holders.
