Ashe County Ephemeral Extravaganza Hike
Member, Barbara Talman, has invited us to visit her property on the New River, Saturday, April 22 from 9am – 11:30am.
Meet at the Methodist Church in Creston:

We’ll shuttle from the church to Barbara’s property. We will need a few drivers with 4WD and a higher clearance for the shuttle to the property. It’s not a rough road, but we’ll be parking in grass. My Subaru Forester did the job very well, as an example.
There are two options:
- Wander around the open area and slopes near the vehicles
- Hike to the river and back – about 2 miles; steep old road bed
It may still be muddy, appropriate footwear is recommended.
It will be chilly; a jacket is recommended.
