Plant Identification Walk
Hello Native Plant Friends!
Let’s get together and learn more about the native plants in our area!
Directions: Haywood Landing is off of Highway 58, between Maysville and Stella (closer to Maysville). There is a sign for Haywood Landing on 58. Turn at the sign (on to Longpoint Road- gravel road) and travel 440 feet. Take your first right (on Loopy Rd-gravel) and travel ~2 miles. Take another right (on to Haywood Landing Rd – gravel) and travel ~ 1/2 mile to boat launch parking lot.
It isn’t hard to find, but there isn’t much signage once you are on the gravel.
Suggestions: Please dress appropriately. Long pants, socks and sturdy shoes are suggested. The area is shady. It may be a little brushy. Insect repellent is recommended. Bring water. There is a bathroom in the parking area. Members may wish to bring plant identification keys/books/apps.
